The Sephora Spring Sale 2024 is upon us and what better time to spend and save on everything you need for the next 6 months (ie next sale).
Let’s talk dates for the Sephora Spring Sale 2024 event. If you sign up for Sephora as an Insider you automatically receive 10% off, however your sale period beings April 9th, if you’re a VIB Insider you receive at 15% discount, your sale starts at the same time as the Insiders’, and if you’re a VIB Rouge your sale started today! They all come to an end on April 15th. All Insiders get a 30% discount on Sephora brand items during the entire sale period with the code YAYSAVE. So, if you’re buying Sephora branded items, don’t wait for your sale period to start, you can place your order from day one, April 5, 2024. Some items sell out quick, so act fast.
This blog post is all about the Sephora Spring Sale 2024 event. What I’m buying? How to navigate? I’d love to know what you’re buying.
HOW TO NAVIGATE THE SALES
I like to dedicate a blog post during every Sephora sale because friends tell each other what they’re buying. This section isn’t dedicated to the Sephora Spring Sale 2024 only, it is sort of my approach to Sephora Sales in general.
I’ve previously shared my two cents on Sephora sales. You need to prep for this well ahead of time in my opinion. Go to the store and play with all the make-up and shades well ahead of the sale. Prep your cart, a whole month before the sale starts (intense much?), then you have some time to figure out if you really want what you selected and make some tweaks to your cart until the sale starts.
I do not go to the store during sale periods, unless an item is sold out online and I need to pick it up in store. I’m not an impulse buyer, except when it comes to beauty products, maybe because of the price point, I start to justify it. When you visit the store, everything is beautifully laid out in pretty packages, with the 20% discount in mind, it is very tempting. It’s a dangerous thing for me to do personally, so I avoid it.
While I add items to my cart, I also like to check for any seasonal kits. I always buy one or two of the Cay Skin lip masks because I really use this product. If you simply add an item from your love list or previous purchases, you will miss out on their seasonal kits. I can see the masks being sold with a full-size lip balm at the same price! So, make sure to check the seasonal kits.
When I buy in April, I am buying everything I need for the next 6 months. I don’t go too crazy (it’s all relative) because you never know how old the make-up you buy is. In the US, there are no expiry dates on make-up. Your next Sephora sale will be in November, so you can stock up again on that sale.
MAKE-UP
My make-up routine is pretty basic. I always buy and stock up on concealers, mascara, eyebrow gel because I go through them quite a bit. Occasionally I buy an eyeliner, eyebrow pomade, blush, CC cream or highlighter, but I don’t go through them as fast as the other items, so I skipped on those on this sale.
I love Dior’s Diorshow Buildable Mascara and keep going back to it ever so often, but I also love trying new ones. I’m giving YSL’s Lash Clash Extreme Volume Mascara a try as well as the Rare Beauty Perfect Strokes Universal Volumizing Mascara.
This season I also wanted to try a new product from Refy, their brow sculpt shape and hold gel. I will report back on what I think about this.
SKIN CARE
This is a bigger and more important category for me personally, because I like investing in skin care. It’s a great investment to take care of your skin of course, but also when your skin looks good, you wear less make up, which isn’t as healthy as you think it is. So, win win.
#1 Body
I’m trying the Sephora scrub and Sephora body lotion. These are new to me. I wanted to try items with a lower price point. Instead of paying $40-60 per tub of body lotion (I do love Caudalie’s lotion), why not try an $18 item, especially as I go through these quite fast.
#2 Face
My usual categories are exfoliators, face wash, eye creams, serums, face creams, neck creams, lip masks and lip balms. I am trying the very simple but steady almost 5 stars Clinique Exfoliating Face Scrub, and the Clarins One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser, which is a new product. The Clarins Double Serum Firming & Smoothing Anti-Aging Concentrate was a re-purchase, I have now used this product for more than two years.
I have a lot of face washes, eye creams, face creams, and neck creams that I bought from my recent trip to Paris, where I spent no less than half a day at the largest pharmacy, as well as a recent order directly from Caudalie, with a 25% discount. I’ve been loving this face wash from Caudalie from scent to texture to how it leaves my skin.
#3 Masks
Face masks and eye masks. I have accumulated a lot of face masks; I mostly use Dr. Jart sheet masks. So, I skipped it. But I wanted to start using Peter Roth Thomas eye patches more regularly. So, I am going to experiment with the Even Smoother Glycolic and the Potent-C Power Brightening Hydra-Gel. The latter was being sold with a full-size eye cream, which of course was a no brainer. Add to cart!
I bought the Cay Skin Pout Protection Duo lip balm and mask, another kit. I also decided to give LANEIGE another try in this life.
#4 Sun Protection
I like to stock up on spf products during the sale as well; I always seem to come back to belif’s The True Cream with spf 50, as it is quite moisturizing. The Innisfree Daily UV Defense Invisible Broad Spectrum spf 36 sunscreen is great for hands and arms when I’m spending the day outside.
HAIR CARE
Hair tools and products. Tools are not a usual or recurrent purchase for me. I use them for years. My last hair straightener I had was a Revlon, very affordable nothing fancy hair straightener, which lasted me 14 years! You would think I would stick to the brand. But I didn’t like their newest hair straightener, it felt very flimsy, so I returned it. I really wanted to try the very pretty T3 SinglePass StyleMax 1” Flat and see what the fuss is all about!
As far as products, I am trying some new things. I have probably tried every dry shampoo there is out there. So, I’m going to go back to Living Proof’s Perfect hair Day Dry, I haven’t used this in years! I also wanted to try Drybar’s Final Call Frizz and Static Control Spray; I noticed my frizz is out of control after I’m done styling my hair, so this might be the cure.
I also think my hair texture has changed over the years and as much as I loved the Briogeo Farewell Frizz Blow Dry Perfection Heat Protectant Cream, it’s not doing that much for me as when I started using it. This might be the first time in a long time that I’m not repurchasing this product (insert guilt here). Instead, I’m trying the JVN Complete Hydrating Air Dry Hair Styling Cream. Not many people talk about this product, but enough that I was influenced to give it a go.
OCCASIONAL PURCHASES
I have several travels lined up this Spring- Summer season. I have a few but needed one more travel size perfume, so I went for Chloé’s Nomade. I’ve never tried this one, so it’s exciting.
This blog post is all about the Sephora Spring Sale 2024 event. I’d love to know what you’re buying.
As always, thank you for stopping by and reading.
See you next week,
